Watching the coverage of Saddam Hussein's impending execution, all I can think is, please, please don't capture any stock footage of celebrating Americans.

My hopes are purely selfish. I simply don't want to see it because my gut will fill with dread and irony and embarassment and all feelings unpatriotic. And that doesn't mix well with lobster bisque.
